Alternative and atmospheric indie artist Penny Eau knows there is power in her words.
"With harmonious backing vocals layering underneath the artist’s syrupy tone, listeners will instantly be lulled into a warm-toned and calming trance." — Wonderland
Hailed as one of BBC Introducing Merseyside's 2022 Highlights, alternative and atmospheric singer/songwriter Penny Eau has been steeped in music as a form of healing, expression and escapism all her life. Born in the US and attending Paul McCartney's Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, she’s seen success as not only an artist but a writer, vocalist and producer.
She has had radio support on BBC 6 and Norway’s NRK P3 for her debut single Lavender & Gasoline. Her cover of ‘New York, New York’ with Daemon and Zech Biship being featured in the Shonda Rhimes-helmed Netflix miniseries “Inventing Anna” and original ‘honeymoonlight’ being placed in The CW’s All-American Homecoming. Looking forward, she’s excited to release her debut album in 2024 made alongside many notable producers including Oscar Neidhardt (Thirty Seconds To Mars, EMELINE) and H.A.O (2 Chainz, The Isley Brothers).
She’s performed at London’s O2 Academy Islington, Liverpool’s The Cavern Club, SoFar Sounds, Vegan Camp Out, the Liverpool International Music Festival, and Oslo’s Uhørt amongst others.
Penny’s songs paint a picture with their hyper-metaphorical lyrics, with topics ranging from heartbreak to climate change. She takes inspiration from genre-bending experimental artists such as Lady Gaga, Bon Iver, and James Blake, and from her passions for veganism, sustainability and wellbeing.
